Watching this show was quite a journey. Since I am a slow watcher, I spent two years living with the characters and the story. There were moments when all I could do was cry, cry again and finish all the tissues I have stored in my house. Several times I had to swallow the urge to kill a few characters who were being specially cruel and unfair, and many others I prayed the scriptwriter so he would stop making me suffer. But I also could not stop myself from laughing with all Maggie Smith's clever remarks (she's Minerva McGonagall in Harry Potter) and from smiling like a silly girl when wonderful things happened.

It is a ten out of ten for me. Especially if you're learning English. Learners will get to listen to different dialects and accents —try to understand what Daisy, the kitchen maid, says when she's speaking— while delving into the English culture. Not only that, but the Crawley family will have to live through some of the most relevant historical events of the last century, such as pandemic, World War II and the post-war.

If you are looking for a bit of drama, love and action surrounded by a beautiful landscape and fancy clothing, this is a safe bet. And if you have already watched it, write a comment below the review and let me know what you think!
